The same year as Simon Lichtenberg opened his first
retail store in Shanghai his business started moving
in a new direction. This didn’t happen in Shanghai,
but far away on the tiny, lush green Isle of Man
located between England and Ireland. The island is not
only known for its low 20% tax, it is also infamous
for being a place to locate one’s company if one
wishes to keep everything secret.
On January 25, 1995 “Trayton Holdings Ltd” was
incorporated in the coastal town of Ramsey. It became
the holding company for Simon Lichtenberg’s Chinese [Berlingske
Tidende]
